Job Title: Technical Outsourcing Coordinator & Materials Specialist

Reports To: Development Manager Fabric and Yarn and Asia Operations Manager

JOB PURPOSE:
To become intimately familiar with every aspect of the manufacturing process including raw materials selection, fabric formation technology, dye stuffs, dye chemicals & axillaries, the dyeing process, drying and chemical application processes, the face finishing, inspection and laboratory evaluation process.
The Technical Outsourcing Coordinator & Materials Specialist follows the daily manufacturing/production and quality of the Primaloft Performance Product family. Along with analysis the TOC&MS will be expected to take appropriate action to correct inconsistencies in performance and appearance characteristics. Included in unacceptable quality performance is any rejected material in any process step. If unable to resolve the issues he/she is empowered to gather suitable assistance from peers, superiors, or outside consultants.
In addition, the expectation is that the TOC&MS will work to translate, implement, train and mentor PPF partners. Other expectations are in participation in planning of future growth, contributing the knowledge gained in processing of the product family by having input for specifying of new processes, equipment and raw materials. Also regular meetings with PPF team including R&D, Product Management and others responsible for development and commercialization of PPF product family
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITYIES
POSITION REQUISITES:
• Defining and continuing developments of fabric technology platforms that capitalize on PPF branded technologies
• Training and mentoring of partner on PPF requirements and procedures to help assure communication, transparency and consistency
• Through fabric construction knowledge to assist in addressing daily concerns that may negatively impact PPF product consistency or timely manufacturing
• Utilize knowledge of Synthetic and Natural fibers, yarns, construction, manufacturing, dyeing and finishing to assist in commercializing of novel technologies to help improve, amend and create new material platforms.
• Continue teamwork relationship with partner and partner’s vendors as needed
• Integration with Product Development on needs and requirements for platform design and material development
• Work with PPF Team for review, culling and restructuring of the product offering to highlight the technological platforms and best express customer requests/requirements
• Employ a Development Request System to help translate requests and input from the Development team to help ensure the creation consistent and salable materials
QUALIFICATIONS
o Bachelor’s Degree in Textiles related field; Knitting emphasis preferred.
o 8 years of relevant experience in related field.
o Technical experience w/ textiles required.
o English mastery a must; spoken and written
o Experience with MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, NetSuite,
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
o Must be able to travel overseas.
o Up to 25% travel.
o Carry loads up to 25 lbs.
